“Vintage violence”

The horrors of war and refugee camps in Congo (an estimated 2.8 million deaths since 1998) filmed in sweet and warm pink colors…An exceptional clip where the artist and photographer Richard Mosse, provides an unexpected and ambivalent insider view that misleads our emotions. Misery, fear and human suffering simply loose their violence and just do not look serious when shot in pink. A very impressive video that will not let you feel indifferent!

“Two counter-worlds [brought] into collision: art’s potential to represent narratives so painful that they exist beyond language, and photography’s capacity to document specific tragedies and communicate them to the world.” Richard Mosse
