Creative coding with Processing

Learning by doing!

Processing is JAVA-derived programming language that provides easy to learn and powerful tools for visual arts, design, computer modelling & simulation. It is also a very fun and attractive language for the development of mobile apps (Android & iOS). Initially created to serve as a software sketchbook and to teach computer programming fundamentals within a visual context, Processing evolved into a development tool for professionals. Today, there are tens of thousands of students, artists, designers, researchers, and hobbyists who use Processing for learning, prototyping, and production. Last but not least, Processing is the favorite tool of the Creative Programming community, a growing social megatrend (to have a flavor see the Eyeo festival)!

Processing is about the immediacy of expressing your ideas! It is the quickest route from code to pixels on screen!” – Tom Carden
